Paul Newman

 

Paul Newman is a composer and saxophone/clarinet player. He studied saxophone performance under Andrew Weinzler at St. Francis Xavier University where he earned a Batchelor’s degree in music and Diploma in Jazz Studies. He completed a Master’s degree in Composition at York University, studying under David Mott. His CD, Duo Compositions (with Karen Ng and Heather Saumer) was listed by Exclaim! Magazine as one of their Ten Best Recordings of 2016. His most recent recording, Time is both Concrete and Elastic, is of compositions for solo tenor saxophone and can be found at paulnewman1@bandcamp.com. Paul has taught at Lowe’s School of Music since 2001 and welcomes the opportunity to help musicians of all ages reach their goals.
