During my standpoint peer conference, my classmates pointed out that I hadn't touched upon the multicultural aspect of my marriage.  I had overlooked the influence Josie's history and culture has impacted my standpoint.  As a family we all take part in many aspect the Vietnamese culture, including regularly eating Vietnamese dishes and celebrating annual holidays.  I am also very close to and and fond of her parents, who have not only shared their lives and traditions with me, but have also shared with me the intimate details of their history, particularly their experiences during the Vietnam war.
